Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bi
    System Manufacturer: MSI
    System Model: MS-7374
    Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ (2 CPUs), ~2.9GHz
    Memory: 4096MB RAM
    about 1.5 TB of Storage
2 x Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT with ~2257MB of Memory

I know since the board can only handle DDR2 RAM i would need to upgrade in the long term, but is there a better Graphics card or AMD processor I could get with the current chipset?

    Many Thanks :D

There is not much point in upgrading the cpu as you at most you will only get a 200-300 mhz boost for around 50 euros.

Not worthy for an upgrade. If you wanna buy a new one you can save some cash by using that 2 graphic cards; either go for budget cpu+mofo (AMD or the new Haswell Intel duo core G3220/3240 etc) or the usual i5 combo, and then get some better gpu in future.
