Anyone got any good places to trek or hack in Meath or Dublin .
I do the beaches a bit but the restricted times are a little hassle at times. Anyone know any good areas to trek for the public ??!

Kilruddery is open for schooling at the moment - perfect place for lots of galloping & you can jump what you want... Lots of people just use it for a nice hack around aswell..

The Munny Trail in Wexford has two 12km tracks aswell but its a bit of a trek.

The Munny Trail is actually on the Carlow/Wicklow border.
What about the Donard trails? You pay your money and can go as far as you like.

Dunany and Piperstown (both north of Drogheda) are both large estates that offer pay and ride if that is nearer for you. Its a real pain that the there is no clear policy and delivery of decent bridleways on public lands like Coillte. Compared to Northern Ireland which has great forest parks with a small fee to pay to ride around clearly marked tracks, safe off road horse riding is just not supported here.
