There's a massive tailwind going up the Cauberg, finish should be great fun.

C'mon Tony split the peloton, I want to see some knackered Frenchmen falling off the back while I scoff my easter egg.

Looks like Geraint Thomas went out too, just tweeted:-
Someone decided he wanted a wee and just turned 90degrees right, nowhere to go, apart from the deck #storyofthelastfeweeks

From Matthew Beaudin, writer on Velonews
Garmin rider Dan Martin abandoned due to knee and ankle pain, not a crash. He has been evaluated and will start Wednesday, reports team.

Last lap to go, about 20.5km. There's 2 groups in front of the peloton, Riblon and Van Hecke at front with just over minute, and then a select group of 7 including Voeckler about 10 seconds ahead of the peloton.

    Might as well not be.

Philipe Gilbert has opened a massive gap on the final climb of the Cauberg, should be able to hold on for the 1.8km to finish

Tinkov on twitter saying he has zero tolerance for such results from Tinkoff Saxo and asks what sport directors are getting paid for

The man's a nightmare ....you can't win every race nor can you win if you don't have the top riders ...Kreuziger is a very good rider but team riders are not strong enough and even if strong not anyone could have beaten Gilbert today....The disappointment on Gerrans face was obvious

Absolutely cannot stand that man. Takes far too much credit for other people's success and then he's first to criticize when it goes wrong.

Great to see Gilbert in top form once again. Valverde's performance seemed a carbon copy of last years WCRR - either couldn't or wouldn't assist in the chase and he got what he deserved, pushed off the podium. Its hard to believe he was unable to pull in that trio - at 250km its a long race, but he has had great form already this spring. Or is it that he senses that no-one really wants to work with him? Maybe the peloton never forgets, after all?
