Glasgow win this and they're in pole position for second in the league. Big game.

    Where's Ferris?

Went over on his ankle in training.

Anyone else this MA isn't the biggest Craig Gilroy fan?

Seriously how do Glasgow do it, that was reminiscent of Leinster circa 2012 with all the dummy runners and a killer line run by Maitland.

    Referee is John Lacey. Joy!

Fairly dodgy looking pass in the lead up to that Ulster penalty.

    Oh it's Lacey! Yay!

Here's hoping for a more competitive and entertaining game than the Leinster one.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 28,161 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

Ah the Leinster game was entertaining enough - some very good rugby in the first and last 20 minutes.

This will certainly be a lot more competitive. I fancy Glasgow...

Ironically I think Lacey is decent, he just had a bit of a 'mare IMO last season.

Glasgow with penalty advantage in front of the sticks about 10m out. I'd really rather see a bit more adventure than a few pick and goes and one outs that go nowhere.

    3 nil to the scots.

I'm on my last beer so this will have to do for entertainment.

Ulster finding it hard to get across this imaginary gainline

As if there was ever a chance that we might think there was an actual physical line drawn on the pitch at every ruck...

Henderson certainly been in the thick of everything so far

My brother in law dug out a couple of pint bottles of Guinness Extra Stout for the last game, not something I would have ever bought myself but very nice.

Is that the export stuff? Kinda sweet? If so its very tasty.

If not, I'm sure it's tasty anyway.

Glasgow's defence is very, very good.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,424 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

    3-3

Paul Marshall is like communism being applied to rugby. Ulster have an embarrassment of riches in the back line so they are forced to have someone that levels the playing field and makes it equal.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,424 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Penalty to Ulster almost in front of the posts.

    3-6.

Yeah, I think so. It was nicer than I was expecting, last time I had it out of a bottle it wasn't this nice anyway.

Glasgow down to 14. Wilson off.

    Ricky Lutton down injured.

    Glasgow 3 - 9 Ulster

I must be the only Paul Marshall fan on this forum.

He has his moments but is really prone to some brainfarts.

I am pretty sure Luke Marshall was about 10 yards offside at one point there.

Both sides have been way offside a number of times from what I've seen.

Obviously the incident comes after the tussle. You could just about see it on the second angle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Somewhat fortuitous for Ulster there. Looked for all the world like Herring was about to drop his arm into the Glasgow player when each camera cut away. Could be 9-3 with Glasgow in the Ulster 22 and 14 men apiece. Instead it's 9-3, deep in Glasgow territory and 15 vs 14.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,424 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

I didn't see anything if I'm totally honest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

If that was 30m further down the field, Court would be in the bin. Knew exactly what he was doing.

    Cullen-esque.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Sloppy from both sides but full blooded. Great steal in the maul there.

Every time I see Josh Strauss play I bang my head off the wall and wonder why one of the provinces didn't sign him.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,424 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Holy good f**k Ulster. TACKLE SOMEONE.

    Try Glasgow.

    Absolutely terrible Ulster defence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Great line by SM. Despite the score line, Ulster's defence is very concerning. They're being blasted through two and three out from the ruck. Who is calling their defence? I can only assume Henry is one of the chief organisers normally.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

By the way, I'm hoping other people copped Jim Neilly calling Sean Doyle by Craig Doyle in the first half?

Poor commentating, Jim. A lot done, a lot more to do.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,424 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Terrible start to second half. Ulster down to 14, Doyle in the bin, Glasgow get the penalty.

    13-9.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

That's a game changer. 3 points and a man in the bin here. Ulster need to come away with something here or they're going to be finishing 4th at best, I think. Ospreys are not out of it yet at all and have a very easy run in.

That was more of a yellow card than the last one.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,424 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

    Sigh...

  • Administrators Posts: 54,424 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

If Glasgow get another try this game is over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Ulster's discipline is awful. Pack just blew threw the jumper.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,424 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

    Try Glasgow.

    That's that.

    Pure crap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

And that, I'm afraid, might be game.

    Come on Ulster!

    Seymour coming back to haunt.

    frustrating game to watch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

I've been impressed with Russell. Really don't rate Weir so anyone that can put pressure on is a bonus.

We have been poor but John Lacey has been scandalously bad.
