Does anyone know when Fantasy World Cup 2014 starts up?

I'm not, the Euro and WC Fantasy Football is never as good. Firstly the scoring system is different iirc, and secondly once it gets to the quarters, semi's, final, it just gets silly due to the lack of choice! Far more luck involved in the latter stages but a bit of fun so will still do it.

I do always need a summer off from constantly thinking about FF decisions, I genuinely obsess over the Premier a League game so it would be a bad idea for me to enter the other ones so I never do.

Yea it usually doesn't start until the end of May.

I love the WC game. If I recall correctly in the last one there was an option to switch your captaincy to a player in a game that hasn't happened yet. It added a nice element of safety vs risk.

Plus this year gives me a chance to get over a terrible FPL season.

This is actually the main reason I didn't like it. Too much f**king about. Pick your team and captain and let it ride for the GW.

It actually requires a more hands on approach which i like. Casual players don't stand a chance unlike the current FPL game

I remember this before and it's sole purpose is to try get you to visit the site every day.
pick a captain for the first day, if he flops you can then change it.
same with subs.
didn't like it and couldn't even find a paid league for the euro 2012 one there was such little interest in it.

If you can't hack full on Fantasy World Cup this prediction competition has a good prize fund, plus you pick your predictions at the start then have nothing else to do. But it gives you a result you are rooting for in every game.

Get a rough idea beforehand?

Shouldn't be too hard to speculate on the likely starters, the easier fixtures and the expected price ranges of certain players

I see the official game is a 23 man squad with numerous different scoring methods, seems quite difficult and a bit gimmicky...

Whatever about picking your squad, do you think we'll be able to set-up leagues etc before June 8th?

With such a late start date,it gives Fantasy players plenty of time to look elsewhere for games, so they could be losing out on a lot of players.

It's actually ridiculous that the official one would leave it so late.

I just don't get it. If they're afraid of withdrawals from squads surely it would be easy enough to update?

Squads aren't being confirmed until the 3rd June so likely waiting for that.

I don't think you can do it yet but assume it will be available when they open up the squad selection
