Anyone here with Ripplecom in Kinnegad?

Big problems with Ripplecom in the past week or so, served by the mast at Kinnegad. Uploading is completely broken (fails the upload part of speedtest.net), and it's almost impossible to even send a text email. My neighbour also has Ripplecom and has the exact same problem.

Oddly enough, ping and download speeds are normal. I'm on a 2 meg down, 0.5 meg up package.

I've contacted their phone support several times in the past few days, and got an email yesterday to say that their system looks normal. They suggested that if I'm unhappy with the upload speed, I might want to consider a higher level package, and I could contact their sales people to discuss!! I replied last night with the results of my tests, and suggested that they reboot the system in Kinnegad to see if that might fix it.

    No response.

Is anyone else here using Ripplecom in Kinnegad or the surrounding area? Have you had the same problem this week? Are there any other options? I've just about had it with them. The service is overpriced compared to others, and mediocre at best - when it's working.

According to the irelandoffline coverage map, there are 2 other possibilities: Regional Broadband (nothing but horror stories on past threads here), and Bounce Broadband (no results at all here when I searched).

I'm at the other end of the counry but Ripplecom service (slow speeds and unreliable) and support (very slow speeds and useless) have been so bad that I gave them notice this week, I'm getting Eircom to put in a landline instead.

Best of luck with the landline! I would have reactivated my landline ages ago, but unfortunately I'm too far away from the exchange for it to be usable for broadband. And I had it tested, just to be sure...

My Ripplecom connection is now completely down. Sending this courtesy of my phone as a mobile wi-fi hotspot.

Apart from the current outage, what's your connection been like in the past week or so?

Dr-funk Im a little further west than you, off Frewin, but also having the same issues as yourself
gone very laggy, at peak times pings average in excess of 300ms often greater than 1000ms
got the same answer from support as yourself, " if you are not happy you can upgrade to an more expensive package " are they trying to move us over to there newer equipment by providing bad service. are premier broadband providing internet in your area any reports on them

Dr Funk...I am curious as to how your story ended up? ?

Ripplecom's customer service is non-existent. In the Trim area, our service went down mid-day Saturday. I phoned their 'customer-service' number 18 (EIGHTEEN!) times on Monday. Nobody answered. Service was eventually restored on Tuesday, but not before I had torn every strand of hair out of my head. They charge top whack, and I find them unreliable in the extreme. Sadly, they are the only show in town, so it's them or nowt.

It's the bally ballyness of it that makes it all seem so bally bally.
