Have an interview with eisthtec in wexford tomorrow.. Just wondering if anyone's ever had one with them, what should I wear? Don't want to go in like a clown in a suit if all they expect is a jeans and a shirt kind of thing

Thing is I'm meeting the HR manager in a restaurant close to the actual centre, her own arrangement... And I don't even know if I have my suit since moving into my new house, I think I left it in my mothers house

Especially as this looks like a call centre/office environment.

I just checked their website and they give good information about what they are looking for. It's likely they will ask questions to see if you would be a good fit based on those criteria.

    Good luck.

If you cannot get a suit the question is moot.

Have you a smart shirt and trousers (not jeans).

The only option is hoping someone can bring it down to me.. (I don't drive) and if not I'm pretty screwed, since all I have are jeans, and maybe a shirt. Don't wear that stuff often like, first interview I've had in years. Last time I wore a suit was my aunts funeral.. Don't want to be walking in there like a scruff either.. Even if I never wear the suit again to work just need to look like I'm worth hiring..

Go to dunes or something and pick up some dark pants and a shirt / tie combo. Basic preparation to be honest.

Didn't expect to have an interview tomorrow, she rang this morning and I wasn't gonna say no can't no suit... Sure I'll pick one up and return it afterwards. **** it if I'm paying for something to use once..

You'd be surprised how often you'll be glad of a shirt and tie. Interview. Wedding. Court? ☺

    Good luck in the interview!

If you cannot get a suit bring it up soon after meeting her. Say, sorry for not wearing a suit, I don't have a suit with me, but didn't want to miss meeting you. Should be fine.

Problem with that is the only money I have is supposed to be for rent... Don't think the landlord will care if I had an interview or not when he's not getting full rent.. Got one in tesco and so long as I don't rip the tag off it I can return it tomorrow, sorted

    How did the interview go?

I have an interview with them next week. What kind of questions did they ask? I had a mini phone interview last week and they asked me to meet with them next week for an interview. Any tips would be really appreciated.

    Thanks

It was grand really. Are you meeting them for the wexford or Waterford Job?

First off when you get to the interview venue just tell reception you're interview is with eishtec they'll tell you to fill out an application which is basic enough really. The same as the online one..when that's done just sit and wait for the interviewer (most likely it'll be Denise) not the HR manager you spoke on the phone with.

They just ask you basic things, such as

    Describe yourself in 3 words
What did you like about your previous job/s
They'll ask you about your last jobs and your role
They'll make reference to your CV
ask you what you know about the company
Since they're a call centre they'll ask you how you'd deal with an angry customer
They'll explain what will happen if you get accepted
Ask you which is your favourite smart phone (iPhone OS or Android OS)
Pretty basic interview really, just read up on what they do, and who they are you can get it all from their website. If they ask what you know, definitely make reference to things on they're site, so study it hard.
And after that all I can say is best of luck!

you don't even know where your suit is?? Honestly, I were were an employer and i read this, I wouldn't waste my time time talking to you. If you are like this at home I'd expect the same at work, Excuses excuses, And to think that you actually posted on here about wearing a suit or not knowing where it is... I'd run a mile from you bud. Any organised person who is job seeking would have suit ready to go in case of short notice.

Well I've moved twice in six months, because of circumstance changes. The suit was in my nannys house when I last used it, and she could have thrown it out, it's not often I actually get calld for an interview, or even get called back at all so no I don't always have a suit on hand.

They emailed me to say I wasn't successful.. But it was "Dear James," my name isn't James... Wondering if they sent it to me in error... My name doesn't even sound like James... Or look similar..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 80 ✭✭simoon86

Write them "Nobody called James here" and wait for clarification.

That's what I did! Only thing keeping my hope alive is, my auntie was accepted for a job (who has no technical or smartphone experience) and when I was on the phone to them earlier asking if there was any word, they found my email with my name so, they must be wrong! That and the experience and knowledge of smart phones I have - including an ECDL... I'm pretty much built for the job if I don't get it I'll be asking serious questions man.

For the interview aye. I returned it to where it came from after since eishtec are a business causal crowd... I don't need a suit.
