After seeing a thread desend into another fad debate I thought Id start a thread where people give their little tricks they find work for them. If you approve of said trick thank it if you dont...dont. Please dont discuss the trick. Please dont discuss the trick.
A brief idea of your goal may help too.

    Ill start.

    Goal: build muscle not fat.
Trick: breakfast is a protein based meal. I will eat anything for breakfast as long as its mainly protein.
Breakfast today was 3 large eggs with a chicken breast in an omellette with a third of a cucumber. Washed down with a pint of milk.

    Hey it works for me.

An animal must die for every meal

Progressive overload, every session should have another rep or another plate (buy fractional plates)

My goal is to lose weight - 2 stone down, 2 to go and just improve my general fitness.

What helps me stay on track is:

Keeping a food diary - it keeps me accountable

Drinking water - stops the worst of my food cravings

Being consistent - if I take even a few days off from exercise I really notice it when I go back to it so I make sure I'm doing something 6 days a week

Whatever you do, bodybuilding, weightlifting, spinning classes, running, whatever, enjoy it, if you don't enjoy it then find something else.

    Consistency.

I find your message fascinating and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

For me: reducing variability improves quality.

This is achieved by learning how to do something right, making note of the pattern and repeating the pattern as accurately as possible.

Having a goal. Having a plan to go with that goal. Eating clean as best as I can to achieve said goal.

Hang out with, listen to and train with people who are better than you.

Surround yourself with people who are just as determined as you!

Best training period I ever had was with the PT group in Elite.

    +1 on Stench too.

    Food diary.
    Surrounding myself with like-minded people.
Making and remembering success, particularly when you are struggling.
Mini goals (since having reached my major goal of not being clinically obese and getting to a healthy weight)
    Changing things up often.
Enjoying what I eat and what I do.

An intrinsic sense of accountability- This is for me and by me and only I can achieve it.

Bring home a German Shepherd puppy. Discover quickly what is actually meant by 'working breed'. Amaze your friends and family as weight falls from body. Run regularly, eat cleanly as possible. Enjoy all foods, including carbs, but watch intake.

    Food diary.

Following a program, I feel guilty if I don't do everything I'm supposed to. If I train without a plan I'm infinitely more likely to 'take it easy'.

Tracking all my lifts on an app.
