Opel Corsa C Gear Changing

    Hi there

I bought a 3 door 1.0L Opel Corsa C there lately, and I've noticed that when changing gears, the car has a tendency to jerk both when going up and down gears. It doesn't do it all the time, but it seems to be very sensitive to what the rev count is when I'm actually changing the gears.

I thought it was my gear changing technique and changing when revs are too low/high but my girlfriend's car is a Honda Jazz and I don't experience the same issue when driving it, so I'm curious as to whether it's a quirk of the car, whether there is possibly a problem with the car, or whether I'm maybe doing something wrong.

    Thanks

No, that's not right. It sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging properly. Check the fluid level. It could be a problem with the master or slave cylinder.

Thanks for that. I'm actually bringing it into a mechanic on Friday anyway to have the timing chain replaced, so I might get him to have a look at the clutch while it's in there. I just hope it's nothing too expensive as I've already spent a few hundred quid getting a rainwater leak fixed!
