Spanish Cup Final ( El Classico ) ,Wed April 16th @8.30pm

    Real Madrid vs Barcelona

Clash of the Titans ,tonight ,at 8.30pm Irish Time @ The Mestella ,Valencia ,Sky Sports 1

Any Clasico comes with a sense of anticipation, and importance. But this match carries even more weight than usual – not only a cup final, but a chance for both clubs to earn some much needed silverware.
Throw in the intense rivalry between the two clubs, and the bad blood that hangs over from Barcelona’s pulsating 4-3 victory in March, and this cup final could be explosive.

Madrid havent conceded a goal in 8 games en route to the final and are hoping to make history but they will be without their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo after the forward failed to recover from a leg injury.
Barcelona are slight favourites with the bookies and have beaten Madrid twice in the league this season.

The final could very well make or break either team's season ,these games usually live up to the hype.

Not a lot of game changers on the bench for real really bar morata maybe. My prediction is another lacklustre cesc performance and to be hooked after an hour.

    Looked offside.

Typical Alves, slow, ponderous and mistake prone, he's a shadow of his former self.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

    Bale's pass was sublime.

Dreadful from Alba and Pinto. Question mark of offside maybe.

I know people still think Valdes is a poor keeper but Pinto makes him look like Buffon in comparison. Truly an awful footballer.

Di Maria is such a class act.

As exemplified by his dive just now ?

    Neymar is lucky there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,955 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Pepe is up to his usual tricks already .
Those red card odds look good.

I think the poster meant "class act" was to do with footballing ability...

Loads of world class players. But there is only a handful of class acts on the pitch tonight, too many clowns imo.

If Ramos doesn't get sent off I'd be massively disappointed.

I meant in terms of football ability.

If you look at the cuts on the grass you can see he's just onside, camera angle makes him look off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Barca must be bossing the possession.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Ronaldo looks like he should be sitting in a wax museum.

I wouldnt use the word bossing.
The game itself is kinda Madrid's in the first quarter. 1 up, had a few chances, attacking at pace, everyone is working very hard.
Barca doing ok. Id guess they do have more possession, but no way would I use the word bossing in any sense.

Pathetic play acting by barca there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,018 ✭✭✭✭klose

Its quite confusing seeing barca make so many crosses considering none of their forwards are near 6 foot tall, dont see the logic here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,955 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Barcelona are playing a dangerous game at the back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,909 ✭✭✭Neeson

    Messi has been poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Madrid well organised, players look more up for it than Barca as well

Atmosphere a bit flat compared to their last encounter .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,955 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Very strange half from Barcelona, very little threat .

Fabregas is a complete waste of space ,the sooner he is taken off the better,he is not a forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Fabregas name has barely been mentioned. Saw that ad for real feel jonnies, might be worth investigating come the weekend.

Strange??? In the last 15 min, barca had more of the play and trying to create attacks. But Madrid are playing superb, they know exactly what they are doing. I woudnt say it was strange, just Madrid are doing the job and barca cant break through.
Fabregas isnt doing too bad, waste of space is harsh. He probably will be taken off for a striker if they are still losing at 60 min cause he is the easy option.

Iniesta had a very good half. I think Modric is excellent.

    That was a mile off.

Pepe rubbing his leg a bit excessively.

    Pepe is insane.
