I give up ! ! I have a very mature garden with so many birds at my feeders all year round. I have an open Robin type box against a wall surrounded by Ivy, I have 4 Tit boxes, 2 with 28mm holes, 2 with 32mm holes spaced well apart in the garden and all with a good drop from hole to bottom of box 8/10 ''
They eat my food but wont stay !
I had a cam ready to install if any takers as I built the boxes with a changeable roof which could be swapped in 3 mins if I got a tenant, But No !
    Any Ideas ?

Are they facing the right direction?

    Northeast is best.

One tip is to site any nestboxes well away from any feeders, as the nesting birds would feel disturbed/threatened by the other birds nearby. It could also be that there are enough natural nesting areas in your garden (especially with mature woodland) that the birds don't feel the need to use the boxes.

In general, if the has been no sign of any birds moving in after 2-3 years, I would suggest just moving any boxes around, for example changeing the height at which they are put up, aspect, etc. Just experiment and hopefully you'll get a pair or two nesting!

We put a nest box up when we moved in four years ago and had no interest at all until this year. I think its just a matter of luck really.
