    Hi All,

Apologies if this is in the wrong place,

I was looking for advice on how to apply for apprenticeships as i am currently interested in trying to obtain one in the field of motor mechanics.

There does not seem to be many positions advertised on sources such as Fás and the like.

Wondering if anyone on here can shed any advice?

I'm based in Dublin if this helps?

    Regards

    G

The only ways you will find an apprenticeship is by checking the local papers, using any contacts you might have ( do you have family ,friends who work as mechanics or known some one who is?) and contacting garages directly and asking if they are looking for or would be interested in taking on an apprentice. Bear in mind it is going to take a minimum of 4 years to complete and you will be working long and hard for little money no respect and terrible conditions so be sure that this is really what you want
