Efibre availability

    Hi

I'm looking for anyone who can help.

My UPC contract is up end of month and I'm leaving them. I want efibre but it's not in my estate yet. The Ashbourne cabinet is efibre enabled and there's cabinets in my estate but it's not set up on my line yet.
So. They can only offer ngb up to 24mb and I'll get 12mb. They can't offer tv until efibre is available. They can't say when it'll be available other than 'Soon'.

If I go with ngb I'll have no tv service or else I'll have to get sky and commit to 12 months which isn't great if efibre materializes in a month or two.

So I wondering based on others experience how long could it take or is it measurable?
What should I do? Stay with UPC out of contract? It annoys me paying full price for UPC considering my area is restricted to 30mb hasn't got hd, remote record, on demand or horizon.

Ashbourne should have more than one cab. In fact it has 24 in total.

    13 are live so far.

Id say wait for VDSL if its one of the blue ones you're through. Orange you might be waiting a good while, maybe take sky for 12 months.

I'm from Ashbourne myself and I'm waiting for Eircom to build a cabinet.

Stay with UPC because you're going to get anything better until eFiber arrives. No harm being out of contract either, just gives you the freedom to switch providers when you have better options available.
