Anyone any ideas about this? When was it last competed for, who won it last or - the ultimate point! - where it'd be nowadays?

Or indeed, am I completely misinformed about the very existence of a Division 7 at some stage in the LCU's past?!

Yes - there was a division 7. It was called the Chess Enterprises Shield at some point.

The history section of the Curragh web site here shows them starting off in Division 7 (the Chess Enterprises Shield) in 1979/80.

it was called the Chess Enterprise for a number of years and then when it was reformed it became the O'Sullivan Cup afte Tom O'Sullivan from Malahide. No idea when it was last played for or who the last winners were but it was going for a number of years.
