    Saw a 1970 Land Rover on the dual carriageway yesterday, appeared to have Tdi power, Defender seats, coil spring suspension, complete Defender body. Put me in mind of Trigger's broom...

    That could be a hybrid built on a 1978 Range Rover chassis although it does look like 90 wb and not the 100" of the RR, rear tub isn't right though. Hybrids are very common in the UK where there's not the stupid motor tax system we have here.

    The subject is debated frequently and while many are simply fraudulent chassis plate swaps, that's not always the case.

    Land Rovers are one of the few vehicles you can easily chop and change every part, mechanically there's not much original about either of mine.

    Mind you, a 98-99 soft dash LWB Range Rover LSE looks odd on ZV plates :rolleyes:
