Over the last week my laptop won't turn on unless the charger is connected and it says plugged in not charging and gradually losing battery life, i googled how to repair this but every one involves removing the battery which is my other problem and the button to slide and release the battery has been broken for some time but wasn't an issue until now, should i bring it to a repair shop and does anyone recommend any, south dublin pref, thanks

Batteries in laptops are classed as consumables and have a certain shelf life. Sounds like its reached its end of life and will need to be replaced. Power it down and remove from the power source and see if you can wiggle something into the catch where the button was to release the battery. New batterys are cheap enough on the likes of amazon and ebay. (I'd try amazon over ebay first because of their returns policy)
