About half a gallon of gear has spilt in the back of my van. Managed to mop of the oil but the smell is horrendous and it's near impossible to stay in the van for a prolonged period. Is there anything out there to get rid of or even mask the smell?

That is evil stuff alright. Can't stand the smell of it. If you have wiped it up, a good cleaner that can cut grease might get Rid of alot of the smell

Can it be wiped up or has it gone into gaps etc

I've mopped it up. Dried off rubber on the floor. But I reckon it's soaked into a plywood sheet that I use a the floor of a tool tray that would be an absolute pain in the tits to take out because shelves are built on top of it.

Get washing powder and rub it in with water and rinse, should help.
