    Hi,
Just wondering if there is any exception to the yellow box rule, where you can stop in it if turning right etc.
    Thanks

Yeah, you just answered your own question. You can stop in a yeller box, if you are turning right, as long as you are not blocking other traffic that has the right of way. You shouldn't stop in a yellow box at all, if it is at a level crossings, or a tram way crossings. That's about it methinks.

You also need to clear it quickly if the light turns red. I've seen a number of scared learners stuck in a yellow box, frozen (while of course being blown out of it by what are presumably licence holders).

The person turning right when the lights turn red has control of the junction so doesn't need to clear it quickly. They do need to clear the junction but safely not quickly.

Yes, as soon as possible, I suppose rather than quickly.

Some junctions seem to be worse than others for 'stranding' people in them. I suppose it must be to do with the light sequencing.
