The reason Chris Greene and Ciara King are filling in for Tubridy next week is because he is off to London, filling in for Simon Mayo on BBC R2 drivetime. Why do the bbc get him to fill in on music shows ? He is not a music broadcaster.

    Sure, they should keep him...

I think I'll listen this time. Although I caught a bit of him a while ago, I mainly just read UK forum responses...which were never especially favourable. Simon Mayo's slot is about more than just playing music.

Tubridy is a lot better on the Radio than he is on TV. Still don't like him, though :p

I hope somebody in the BBC is good at downloading clips from youtube.

Hard to imagine Chris and Ciara doing it, the bottom of the barrel show they do is so different from the Tubridy show. It should be good though.

Does this mean he'll be reviewing films with Mark Kermode at the end of the week? I always enjoy the Mayo and Kermode reviews they put up on their Youtube channel.

I wonder if he'll get a Charlie And The Chocolate reference in....

People on a forum, hiding behind a user name, not being favourable to something???? Are you sure???

I just listened to it. I don't listen to him on 2FM, so I approached it without much previous experience. First hour wasn't great: forced banter, talking over people, making a joke about drowning children. Second hour was probably better, but I'm not especially excited by his personality, so wasn't much entertained. He was fortunate that both his guests were very willing to talk.

The thing about Tubridy is that he is harmless, and does light chatter on Radio relatively well. But, you can't help but be vexed when you consider that he is Ireland's best-paid media personality - someone who fills-in on a drivetime Radio show in the UK, is the presenter of the flagship TV chatshow back home.

RTE should insist he dedicate himself 100% to the RTE gig or feel free to dedicate himself 100% to whatever BBC might throw at him. I mean, either do his job or they should get someone else to do it! It's a bit of a laugh that he can swan off to the BBC to moonlight there whenever it suits.

I'm half thinking that somebody in RTE is interviewing people for both of his jobs while he's away and just havent found the right person yet..

What the hell was up with lottie Ryan's breathing when doing the "entertainment" news just there ? Before she spoke there was a really sharp intake of breath, more than usual that you'd hear from presenters on the radio.

Maybe she's been getting breathing tips of Nadine O'Regan?

Why? He can do what he wants on his holidays. Do we now dictate what these guys do on their own time?

He has an exclusivity deal in Ireland with RTE. BBC is outside the parish and doesn't interfere with his role in RTE.

Besides, he's a outside contractor with RTE, not an employee.

Cleaning contractors, catering contractors and engineering contractors etc. are allowed to have other contracts/jobs. It's the nature of these things.

He can't possibly be any good if he's back in the BBC again.
