Could Not Pay Speeding Fine - Advice

    Hi
My husband received a speeding fine in the post. I was driving the car at the time of the incident. I paid the fine but had completed the form incorrectly. They sent it back to me. On the last of the allowed period to pay the fine, I went to the post office to pay same. The teller would not accept the payment as he said the form was incorrect and I should have received another form.

Anyway. The time period has not lapsed and I am expecting a court appearance. I wrote to the fixed charge dept and they said there is nothing they can do it will automatically go to court. They can't stop the process now.

If I sign an affidavit and go to court with my husband will the points be allocated to me (even though his name is on the fine) He is the registered owner of my car.

    Thanks in advance

Get a solicitor. It happened me with some of my drivers. I allocated points to the wrong guy. I got letters from both. One saying they were his. The other saying they weren't his.
Judge heard the evidence and dismissed it.
Can't guarantee this will happen you but get your documents In order for the day and any correspondence you have.
You could try talking to the guard whose name is on the documents and explain what happened to him, see what he says.
