    Hi all,

We have booked our hols in Salou for June. The problem is we are flying in to Stanstead from Belfast and then flying from there to Reus 1 HOUR LATER.

Will we make this flight with just 1 hour between flights. We will just have hand luggage so no waiting for bags at the carousel.

    Thanks for any help.

Stansted is fairly big- 1hr is cutting it very fine. It could happen that your second flight departs from one of the satellite piers so you will have to get the transit train thing.

I think you're cutting it very fine, you have to get out of the plane walk all through passport control/customs (don't think there's a separate UK section) and then go through security and get to your gate. I certainly wouldn't risk it myself.

    Hi
If there aren't any flight delays you should just about make it. Make sure you get seats close to the front of the plane from Belfast to Stansted so that you are off as quick as possible. The flight from Belfast will be considered a domestic flight (not international), so you won't have to go through passport control.

Is there any way of letting the Reus boarding flight staff know that you are on that flight? As long as there are no long delays you should be ok. Straight off plane and walk at fast pace.

The bottleneck will be at security, and Stansted in June can be jammers. I agree that in theory you should just about have time — it's not impossible, by any means — but if you can possibly change the Ireland-to-Stansted leg I would, tbh.

If you're travelling with kids or anything, then I would definitely not risk it.

No, you would be treated the same way as someone stuck in traffic, you may not have allowed enough time but it's your responsibility.

Many thanks for all the replies. Hopin to make it and of course we have 3 kids with us.
Would we be able to get the flight info for our connecting flight before we leave Belfast?

If we knew gate number etc beforehand it would help or even if it was difficult to get from our arrival gate (from belfast to Stanstead)to our departing gate within the hour!!!!!

Unlikely considering the gate numbers only appear on screen at Stansted when the flight is ready to board.

Arrivals and departures are kept separate at Stansted- As already mentioned the flight you arrive on will be considered a domestic one- so you will be taken directly from the aircraft to the domestic arrivals door which brings you directly into the baggage hall, so you'll have to go out and back in through security.

Buy the security priority pass, it might give you a shot. I think most UK airports do this now as a little revenue earner.

Edit; just saw you have 3 kids with you. That's the deal breaker there for me, you've got a chance as a single traveller or maybe couple but you haven't a prayer with kids. No chance, I'd be booking as earlier flight to STN asap.

    Cheers,
If i was to book earlier flights would I just have to lose the flight money paid already or can ye make amendments I wonder. The flight from Belfast to Stanstead is with Easyjet.

The 3 kids (youngest 5) does make a difference when trying to commute between flights.

Your flight departs one hour after your other one lands? This means gate will close 30 mins before. Therefore you have 30 mins to get five of you off the inbound plane, through border control (I know there are no passports but you still have to show boarding cards in order to exit), back through security and then onwards to the gate.

All this in 30 mins with kids?

It probably could be done IF everything is running on time but you need military planning. For instance pay for seats at the front of the inbound plane, ensure everyone has been to the bathroom before you get off inbound plane, have food packed for everyone as you wont have chance to buy any, make sure all liquids are handy to pull out of your bags for security checks, no one wearing boots, belts anything with metal on and everybody in your travelling party knows you are in a rush so to be ready to leg it.

The onward plane will not wait for you and it is pointless telling anyone you have an unsecured connection to make as they wont care. If you want to change your flights then you can usually do this online. Costs a fair bit though usually.

    Good luck!

In fairness this by and large isn't true; your gate realistically will close ~10-15mins from scheduled departure. Gives you 45mins to make it, which is still too tight.

I'm not sure how easyJet are with switching onto another flight but I'm sure they have the option and charge accordingly.

You might make it but if the plane from Belfast is delayed, or has to circle London a few times..! Fingers crossed for you, anyways :)

sorry to tell you...you wont make it if its an hours gap with 3 children...unless both flights were departing from gates right beside each other so you didnt have to go through security or anything...

I was on easyJet once, gates closed at 1, departure time was 1.30. We were up in the air by 1.10.
Since your flying Belfast to Stansted with easyjet, this could work for you. If your flying from Stansted with easyJet might work against you
Could you give us times your departing Belfast and Stanstead?
How long do easyJet say the flight from Belfast will take? Are they doing a Ryanair saying an 50mins flight will take 70mins?

    Hi,

The Easyjet flight departs Belfast at 15.00 and arrives in Stanstead at 16.15.
The Ryanair flight then departs Stanstead at 17.20.

    Thanks for all the help.

They posted elsewhere about a long wait in Stansted, so I guess they took the advice and went for an earlier flight into Stansted.
