    Hey,

If anyone has a unwanted optical drive for a unibody Macbook Pro can ye let me know. My internal one is knackered and can't install a Windows partition via an External Optical Drive or from a USB stick. Tried every solution but I read that it is written in the BIOS that it can only be installed through an internal optical drive?

Do you realy need to do a dual boot or could you not just virtualize it? Using fusion or virtual box. I was dual booting my imac with win7 until i got my hands on vmware fusion, installed win7 from an iso file and never looked back.

Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure you can create a bootable ISO on a USB stick as long as it's NTFS formatted.

To get back to the problem, I feel your pain because my optical drive is dead too. Might replace it with an SSD...
