    You can do it through autocorrect if I'm not mistaken. go to tools > Autcorrect...

    and fill out the "Replace" and "With" fields with the shorthand and full phrase respectively. Add the rule and as long as autocorrect is enabled, it will replace the shortand with the full phrase as you type.
