    Hi,

I have smart telecom/digiweb uncongested dsl broadband as they have there own equipment in my local exchange. I have contacted digiweb to upgrade to the fibre network as its live in my area

This is where the problem occurs, seemingly the only way i can swap to fibre is to have existing service disconnected for up to 4 weeks while its rewired in exchange.

Has anyone else had this problem when trying to upgrade.....seems to be a complete joke. Havent tried other providers but have been told same issue no matter who i go with as eircom have to do some local wiring in the exchange.

Anyone in the same boat ?

I may be in the same boat in a few weeks time. I with Digiweb ADSL. Waiting on my cabinet to go live; once it does I'll be switching to Vodafone Fibre so I may encounter the same.
It does sound excessive though. I put an fibre upgrade order in with Digiweb about 2 months back when I thought my cabinet was live and they mentioned nothing about this to me, just came back after 3-4 saying fibre wasn't available to me.
