Just wondering if anyone has any idea how long Garda Vetting/Clearance is taking at the moment? I have recently applied in respect of a new post (HSE). Thanks in advance

From when the authorised signatory sends off your form not very long at all currently, usually only a couple of weeks, sometimes a lot quicker. Of course if there are internal delays in actually sending the forms away, communicating the results to departments etc. then that can add to the timeframe considerably. Incidentally the gardai don't clear anyone to do anything, vetting is a statement of certain aspects of an individual's record.

Many thanks, I was just wondering what the time frame was currently and if there were any obvious delays at the moment as it can sometimes take longer than others. I know that the delay is often (usually?!) beyond the scope of the Gardai at either end of the process and my experience is that the Gardai are the most efficient link in the chain!
And I simply used the word "clearance" as it used to be known as "Garda Clearance" when vetting first started being a pre-requisite for child protection work. I understand its limitations and I didn't mean anything by it.
    Thanks

Got my garda vetting through today for volunteering in the community. Took 12 business days for my signatory.
