Just wondering what other people are vaping? I'm curently vaping 50/50 at the moment, I was vaping 80/20 before that but the throat was is a bit much for me so I'm thinking of trying 70/30 next. What's you personal preference? Do you tend to stick to the same ratio's or do you like to mix it up?

Great idea for a thread, I have had a feeling for a long time that a whole lot more people prefer between 50 and 100% VG than juice vendors recognise, I had been using 50:50 but am moving towards 100% VG as PG has a drying effect on my skin.

It really annoys me when there is no labelling on bottles or indications on sites of the ratios.

I just thought it'd be interesting to see what people are vaping and to hear the reasons why people have made that choice. I'm still experimenting at the moment trying to hone in on which vapes best for me. Appolgies if this has been done before here.

Not that I have seen, PG:VG also effects how different devices work because of the difference in viscosity, an atomiser that leaks with what I consider to be the standard mix 50:50 may not leak with a higher % VG and vice versa.

The only other thing I can add to the debate is that VG is more likely safer than PG (PG is very safe btw) and VG seems to carry the flavour better than PG and makes lovely clouds.....Mmmmmmm.....:P

There was some talk about PEG being tested but I have not seen it mentioned in some time.

Just to add, for an industry that considers itself "self regulating" Yet there is no list of ingredients written on eLiquid as there has to be on everything else we consume.....except tobacco, that contains diseased lungs and cancerous growths :D

There should be a list starting with:
    nicotine strenght
    PG/VG ratio
    Water
    Alcohol
Flavourings then should be listed by name or E number.

This applies to pretty much everything else we consume and I for one would like to know exactly what what we are vaping.

50/50 I think. Fck knows though. Still all over the place with vaping, don't know what I like

Definite VG bias though. PG does seem a bit harsh and dry imo and I'm not into throat hit. Smooth and cloudy will do me so might brew up some 70VG to see.

Unless I'm mistaken and it's the PG liquids I like, I just don't realise they're PG. Wouldn't rule that out tbh.

So, in summary, I don't know.

    HTH

EDIT: Yeah, agree with the above. Less of the secrecy please vendors. I don't give a sh1t how protective you are of your precious recipe. If you want to sell it on an open market you should have to disclose certain things. Outrageous really - VIP lists Water first on its ingredients for example. Joke.

Yeah...the throat hit off PG gets too much at times tbh....I know reading legacy threads it was all about the throaty hit but I think now with superior vaping gear there is not as much need for as much PG....I just got VG both with and without Nicotine to add to juices I have that are 50:50 Way prefer them with more VG....

Am also surprised how VG with Nicotene tastes too....kinda cigaretty....

And ya gotta love those clouds.....:)

I had a reaction to PG for a while, dry skin patches and itchy patches. Dropped to 50/50 and the dry skin went. I then dropped the nic and needed the PG for TH. What do you know? the dry skin didn't return. I'm happy enough with a 70/30 mix for TH at 12 mg nic and no annoying flaky skin.
Flavor wise it as good as 50/50 slightly less sweet but thats no bad thing. The vapor is easier to stealth vape but not as much fun to see floating.
And your right about a list of ingredients, though this will need a leaflet or box as the 10ml bottles are too small for a readable list.

A list on the website would do fine when you go to order, sure, a list on the bottles is probably even better and I realise that there is not enough space to put this on bottles, yet other bottles of liquid manage to list lots of things.....yet very little......

Hmm, has anyone noticed a side effect from VG that may make being in polite company difficult? Rather than, say, being in the nice outdoors where a fresh breeze might come along any minute. Is this just me? :o

    100% vg for me.
Pg gives me a very dry throat.

The shop I use is best ecig.
You can pick vg or pg for all their flavours.
Only thing is thy don't do 18mg strength so I have to buy a bottle of 24mg and a bottle of 12mg.

It's definitely the VG, I'm sure of it. I noticed it when I first started vaping, that was Dekang so 80PG, but it went quickly as my body adjusted I think. Then I upped to 50VG and the ferociousness was unprecedented. I adjusted again, after a longer time and still with the occasional visit, but after making a mess of juice buying and only going back to higher VG recently, it's back with a vengence now. Nobody is safe.

They should really have a health warning on the bottles, people can get killed this way. ;)

I thought of this thread Saturday.

I've been vaping 50/50 for a while and my last batch I made at 65%vg.

Bought some very nice RY4 Saturday, but it is 70pg and giving me a lot less vapour.

It seems most people prefer higher vg, so what are the manufacturers playing at?

They are just catering for the mass market I would think.

Most people starting to vape will want a good throat hit which the PG will give.

VG also mutes flavour so the more VG the more flavour they have to add.

And most people use clearos and cartos which need a watered-down mix to wick well.

Easily solved if they thin the VG with some plain water instead of PG. I get VG from two sources and one is gloopier than the other so it can be done.

Any good buying some flavour and adding it so the 100% vg is a bit more tasty.
If so, how much could I add to, let's say a 30ml bottle?

It has to be a "safe-to-vape" flavouring and as for the amount - depends on your taste and each flavouring.
Some flavours are good @ 2%, some upwards of 30%.

A safe bet would be to start with 4.5ml of VG and 0.5ml of flavouring and keep track of how much more you have to add either way.
