    2014 Scheldeprijs - 201km (1.HC)

This isn't live on Eurosport or Sky today, I'm only posting this because Sam Bennett is riding. There are highlights on Sky Sports 3 tonight at 11.30pm. There is a live text ticker here.

Most of the top Classics riders who rode the Tour of Flanders and who will ride Paris-Roubaix on Sunday have entered. Marcel Kittel is going for a hat-trick of wins. Boonen, Sagan, Cancellara, Demare, Kristoff, Boassen Hagen, Wiggins, and Farrar are all taking part. Greipel and Cav have not entered. Full start list here.

This race is guaranteed to end in a sprint (and there will probably be a few crashes along the way). There are no climbs and only a few sections of cobbles.

Delighted to see Sam doesn't appear to be showing after-effects of the crash on Sunday - maybe going out relatively early was a bit of a blessing as it may have meant he avoided some of the later carnage. Here's hoping he can put on a good show today

    Well done him..

Kittel held up three fingers to celebrate his third consecutive Scheldeprijs.

Sam 5th, another good result - and another case of him in a bad position for sprinting. Let himself get pushed all the way around the outside of the corner, impressive that he managed to get 5th from there.

    Final kms here

These early season races seem to be doing Sam the world of good - if he's not careful he'll be getting a few knocks on the door from some World Tour teams over the summer, as if he could get the benefit of a world class lead-out team who knows what he's capable of ....

Quick reminder - highlights are just starting on Sky Sports 3
