6 Year Old Sony TV with Digital Duner

    Gah.... I mean "tuner"

    Here's a question.....

I have a Sony 32V4500 TV which has a digital tuner inbuilt. If I connected the TV to my Satellite dish, should I be able to tune into any channels?

I have tried but got nothing so wondering were my connections a bit dodgy or could the TV just not tune into the dish.

I've moved into a new house and there was a dish on the wall. I added a quad LNB and it's working fine for the TV into the sitting room. I also have an aerial on the roof which looks like the one my dad had years ago for picking up the UK stations on the East Coast. Can that aerial be used for Saorview if I ran the signal to a Saorview box (assuming the 6 year old TV can't tune into Saorview) or even better a combi box.

I have the 26" version, it doesn't have a satellite tuner, digital terrestrial only. Purchased mine about April/May 2008.

The TV will work fine for Saorview except no digital Aertel. Connect the aerial to the TV and see what you get. If it's an old aerial it may have to be upgraded for Saorview.

Where are you located, use the Saorview coverage checker to find the transmitter for your area - http://www.saorview.ie/get-saorview/make-the-switch/coverage-map/
