Upgraded to NG Broadband

So, I was having issues with our broadband connection speeds dropping from 8mb to 1mb and as part of the diagnostic process O2 set us to upgrade to next generation broadband to rule out contention issues. As it turns out I soon discovered the problem was due to an unfiltered machine on the line but waited to see how the NG upgrade would perform.

A week or so later and the upgrade goes through and I see I'm connected at ~15mb (I was told this would be the speed) down in G.992.5 mode compared to my previous G.DMT.

My issue is that my upload connection speed has now dropped from ~1mb to 0.7mb with similar reduction in actual performance.

I note that previously the upload and download connection speeds were shown as 800000 and 8128000 bps respectively whereas now they can fluctuate a bit. My loop attenuation has also increased to 24 from 15. Is the NG broadband more susceptible to a noisy line or is this possibly caused by some coincidence. Does the upgrade actually require some physical change?

Thanks in advance for any opinions/info, I want to be somewhat armed when I ring them
