Incentives for companies to hire unemployed people.

My brother has been on the dole for ten months now. He was told that there is a substantial financial reward given to companies that employ somebody who has been on the dole for a certain amount of time. Can anybody tell me if there is any truth in this?

Jobplus social protection incentive, provides up to 10,000 to an employer who employs a person who has been unemployed for two years, or 7,500 if person has been unemployed for a year. There are conditions attached. Check out citizensinfo.ie or welfare.ie for more information.
