I'm looking for a skin the will enable my wife to use xbmc on my new htpc easily when I'm not around. I like to use aeon nox but would prefer something simpler for her to navigate - don't want it to look crap though :-) Any recommendations lads?

My 65 & 60 yo parents get on fine with Transparency.

That said, I reckon all the skins are as easy or as hard to use as each other. Its the aesthetics and ease or difficulty of configuration that differs IMHO.

Configure, remove unused menu options, lock down UI with kiosk mode and I don't see there being much of a difference between ease of use of the skins.

I think my parents prefer Transparency because its a nice compromise between eye-candy and clutter.

I prefer Aeon Nox 4.19 with all the transparent Bluray cases and spinning bluray disks and media icons etc etc where they view it as un-needed clutter.

We all love the 180 Tv shows and 1300 movies though :D

Confluence is very easy to use in that regard, nice and simple when you set it up right with Movies, TV shows, music and add on's kept in the videos menu.

    +1 For Aeon Nox,

You can add in shortcuts and quick links to the main menu real easily and hide the guts of it. It also has some nice Art and poster options making it look really good! It's my fav by far.

I'd vote for Xperience1080, has a very appliance like feel.

I use Aeon MQ 5 which is a newer one from last year, the advantage being the main screens are highly customisable so you can hide a lot of stuff and restrict a lot of the menus.
My OH and daughters use no problem and I've 19tb of stuff to navigate through...

When you switch the menus of most skins to horizontal, the mechanics of the UI are pretty much the same whether you're talking about Confluence or Aeon Nox. I think the general consensus that confluence is easier to use than Aeon Nox for example is actually only due to the fact that Aeon has the option for more widgets and eye candy and/or has more of them switched on by default. Ironically, the more 'cluttered' or complicated looking the skin, the more likely it is to be able to declutter it to a greater degree than the 'simpler' skins.

Bello. It's super quick, looks great, and the submenu items are much easier to use than aeon imo.
