Races in Limerick/Newcastle west

I may have need to travel to Limerick soon, and figured I might be able to take in a race when I'm down there. Are there any races coming up in the next 6 weeks or so, that don't clash with the Gorey or Sha3 that anyone could recommend?

The CI calendar as usual, doesn't have a lot of info.

    Thanks!
    Lenny

    But on a serious note!!!
The Kanturk 3-day is on the May BH. Rás Chlair is on May 11th. Think there's one in COrk (Whitechurch maybe?) on 18th. Visit Nenagh is on this Sunday with a TTT on the Saturday.
And of course, if you want some actual racing, the Limerick CC summer league is on every Tuesday at 7pm in Birdhill - but that is probably a bit speedy for you. Actually Lenny, these are all Munster races so I'm not sure you'd be able for ANY of them. Come to think of it...would you even be allowed into them?

    Kindest regards,
    Slo Rida (A4-4-life)

Is that Tues evening league open to riders from other clubs or just Limerick CC riders only?

Very much open to all with a CI licence - the "Limited Competition Licence" will suffice. Racers come from a lot of clubs to it...ossary CC, the 3 Nenagh clubs, Clare, Killmallock...all the limerick clubs, C4SC, planet tri, Shannon, I can't list them all. I'm not saying it cos i'm a member but it is very good, the standard in the scratch group speaks for itself - Stephen Shanahan, Vinnie Gleeson, the Scullys from Nenagh and the Visit Nenagh lads and more. The second group is very strong as well and the first group is fast enough but open to people who are improving and hoping to make the step up at some stage.

So yeah all welcome (sep Lenny)

Nenagh CC run the same route as limerick CC except on Thursday evenings starting this Thursday at 7pm from the Roadstone plant at Gooig. All welcome. I'm not affiliated to nenagh cc but everyone's welcome.

There's a club in NCW as well. I know one of the fellas in it and I'm sure he'd be happy to have you along on a spin. Great scenery along the N69 back past Foynes btw. You could take the ferry from Tarbert over to Clare if you were so inclined and ride back towards Limerick city or else just head back towards Ballybunion. Athea/Abbeyfeale/Broadford have some great hills as well. Ah, thinking of it makes me miss home.
PM me of you need contact details.

Bit off topic, but Slo - do you know anything about the Kieran McMahon Memorial in Clonlara on 22 June. Got a profile of the course? Looking like it will be my 1st race of the year hopefully.

Race in memory of someone who appears to have been a legend. 10yrs in a row competing in An RAS Tailteann.

    More details here: http://kieranmacmahonclassic.com/route/

Regarding leagues the club in Shannon CRNS run one on Wednesday @ 7pm, its 3 loops over a 13km lumpy circuit, another option if the Tuesdays and Thursdays don't suit.

    Thanks mccutchie.
Do you happen to have a profile or route? I'll throw it into google maps if not and try and work it out from there.
