    The general consensus seems to be: only go with them if there is no other choice. They have poor customer service, some strange restrictions on downloads (speed caps on ftp for example), they tried capping download speeds in the afternoon if you downloaded more than a measly 4gb(but seem to have abandoned this now?), they don't seem to have capable backhaul on fibre.. The list goes on. Seems like Vodafone or eircom are the lads to go for if they are available to you. Their prices have dropped fairly dramatically in the last little while and eircom now even offer tv over fibre, so I'm not sure what perceived advantage there is to signing up with magnet, especially for a fibre product.

    Have been using Magnet for years now.
    No issue with download speeds, have not witnessed any caps.

    Basically they use the eircom lines so if there is an issue there you will have to wait for Eircom...

    Customer service - when I switched to fibre I got a dodgy router, they replaced it for me over the Christmas break, it was a struggle to be honest due to the time of year but they got it done for me.

    For me it's an easy choice.
    Do I want limits, high contention?
    Yes = Eircom
    No - Magnet - they have won everytime...

    Eircom don't restrict or have contention on most of the fibre enabled exchanges to be fair. There have been far far more stories about Magnet restricting speeds.

    i have magnet for 14 months, i download a LOT, get about 90% of my subscribed line speed (56-68mbps out of 60mbps). Never came across any restriuctions or caps. Their router is crap and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired but I dont need them 90% of time and I have my own wireless AC router :D

    They are grand.

    No limits with Eircom and no contention on fibre. I'm very happy with my Eircom efibre. I did all the hopping from provider to provider.

    Hey , moving to aikens village Dublin 18 and learned afterwards that upc are not hooked up for broadband - tv only . Seems magnet is the only option .. Can anyone confirm ? After having upc broadband last 2 years which was superb , reading these comments has me slightly worried so trying to see what options are !
