Like the title says, which should I buy?

I would order the nexus 5 from Amazon for around 340€ and buy the S4 on Adverts, DD etc... for around 350€.

    What should I go for?

Nexus 5 gets my vote, I got tired of Samsungs bloaty nonsense after the S1 and S2, stock android is sweet!

Nexus 5. Too much bloatware on the S4, unless you decide to root it and also I find the vanilla android a lot better than the Touchwiz UI

My opinion may be bias as I have a N5, but I have owned a GS3 previously and a GS2 before that.

Stock Android all the way with the Nexus getting my vote too.

Samsung Touchwiz is a big negative for me

I want the stock Android. But I want the Samsung brand name for re-sale. Seriously unsure what to get

I got rid of my Samsung a couple of weeks ago for my N5. Don't regret it at all, love the N5.

Well Nexus 5 will probably be discontinued when the Nexus 6 (possible) comes out, so they will also be a rarity down the road I guess? Smart-phone gold!

I noticed meteor selling the nexus 5 in store recently, would buying it from them still be the same, as in no add ons i don't want?

I would definitely get it from Amazon if I was getting it. 338€ free shipping.

Yeah but possibly free on upgrade, can't even afford to buy lunch most days :pac:

If it was me, I'd get the highest value, most easily sold one you can on upgrade. Then flog it and buy the nexus 5. Profit will cover lunch for the week;)

My problem with the N5 is the restriction of space because of the lack of microSD slot. I have a Z1 solely for that reason. I didnt want to be reliant on data/wifi to stream music.

How much music do you have on your phone? :O I have a good bit on mine and when I went from my HTC Sensation XE with micro sd which I used to have music in .flac format. I just changed music to high quality mp3 and can fit it all on no problem with plenty room to spare. You can also get a 32gb Nexus 5. if you need more space than that, I can't help you lol

I have a 64gb uSD card in it. Not that expensive on amazon. It's almost full but that's because I just drag/dropped almost my whole collection. If I trimmed it a bit, I guess I could get it as low as 40gb. Still way more than more devices offer.

Unless I go to the top end iPhone but that's never going to happen.

What format do you have it in? Should only be about 150mb per disc?

Ive owned both, Nexus 5 is a much better phone, only reason to even think of the S4 imo is the camera, though TBH the Nexus camera is more than good enough for what i need.

Can anyone confirm if the Nexus 5 from 3 is the same as what I would be getting from Amazon?

I'm getting it for free on an upgrade so just want to make sure 3 don't fill it with nonsense. They are looking for €179 for the S5 which I'm not too bothered about.

Nexus 5 camera isn't great. We have a team of five all using N5 and they all agree the battery is woeful. (Even after a fresh factory reset with no additional apps installed)

Let me guess, they're new to Android? You want to get them battery minding lessons, this is the best battery I've ever had on an Android phone.

The biggest killer is always the screen. You should keep the brightness as low as you can possibly bear and only turn up when absolutely needed. There's also an app called Lux that does a much better job of the auto setting

Also, avoid widgets that constantly update and don't use live wallpapers.

No. The last four upgrades have been Android. All tweaks (within reason) have been done with my instruction. Most of the reviews say the battery isn't great. Go onto gsmarena and look at the N5 battery tests versus other phones. The phone doesn't last the day with medium to heavy usage. It's a pity because otherwise the phone is great.

The best phone we've had so far was the S3. Near 2 days medium to heavy usage.

Very much regret getting the N5. Looking forward to getting my hands on the S5.

The last phone I had was an S3, I find the N5 battery better even though the screen is bigger. I never got 2 days out of my S3 but then again I never liked touchwiz and flashed a custom rom straight away.

If you want a nexus 5 with a great battery and camera get the LG G2. Superb phone.

Had the LG G2 and though I loved some aspects I changed to Nexus and I'm delighted with it.

Much less bulky but best of all is the stick Android experience. LG G2 had far too much crap installed. The notifications bar was halfway down the screen before you even started doing anything.

Nexus 5, great value, great phone.

Its camera was good too.....just love the stock android......
