2008 Hyundai Santa Fe - Clutch Problem

    Hi All,

I hope this is the right area to post, mods please relocate if I'm in the wrong area.

As per the title, 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2 Diesel, 80,000 KM's on the clock, based on outskirts of Galway City.

Driving home today on a country back road, went to change gear and clutch pedal just went all the way to the floor with no resistance. Managed to get it out of gear and pulled in. Hooked my foot around the pedal and pulled it out but when I pushed it in again still no resistance.

Gave it a few minutes and tried clutch again and this time there was resistance so got it back into gear and tried to make it home as was only a few miles to go.

Got about a mile down the road and same thing happened, repeated all the above. Continued like this until I got home.

Have had it parked up outside the house last couple of hours, just tried it there, pulled forward and backwards a couple of times with no problems but when I press the clutch all the way to the floor feels like there's a 'click' or a 'crunch' (sorry that's as good as I can describe it) when it get's to the floor.

Does it sound like the clutch is knackered and if so is it a big/costly job to fix?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
