Question on NCT

    Hi

i just failed my nct because the coil spring on the offside front of a opel corsa d is broken

the limit for the imbalance is 30% however my imbalance was 14% yet i still have to go back and do a suspension test for 28e

    is this normal?

also a mechanic told me yesterday this that i need new top shock mounts at the front but there was no mention of this at the NCT today, i was wondering if the shock mounts and the coil spring are related

in other words replacing the coil spring on its own wont be enough and if i dont replace the shock mounts the spring will break soon afterwards?

    excuse my ignorance

    thanks

Resonably cheap fix whilst he has the car in bits.

the imbalance test is a test of the dampers not the spring so yes it is normal to have to pay €28 for the re-test of the spring.

If the shock top mounts are in need of replacing it make sense to have it done at the same time :)
