Cramming before an exam by staying up all night studying, absolutely ridiculous. How about just study as required from the beginning and get a full nights sleep everynight.

Texting while walking and NEVER taking their eyes off the screen for a second, then getting annoyed when someone bumps into them.

    Morons.

I wouldn't say cramming is ridiculous. It all depends on your goal. If you just want to pass said exam then cramming may well be enough and it works for some people. If you actually want to understand and be able to us whatever it is you are studying long term then yes cramming is likely not going to be enough for most people.

In my experience no matter how many times you study something. Often you cant get it from short term memory to long term memory eg you get 95% on a biology test and the next week you sit the exact same test and get 50%. Cramming uses the fact you remember stuff better short term.

Cramming makes sense for certain types of people with a particular type of memory. And people who don't study.

I had a teacher in school who gave us the whole "learn as you go, don't cram" for two years.

In his last class before the leaving we asked him for advice. Amongst other advice he said "might as well cram now, if you have gaps. I didn't say that before to stop you from learning nothing, but if you are unsure now - cram"

    Wise advice.

Getting it from short to long term memory is called "understanding" the topic. I'm afraid your education may have been wasted, based on the above.

When I was studying IT there was one guy in our class who use to sleep through each lesson.
The rest if us would be taking notes.....

Come exam day we would all be chilling out in the canteen while he woyld be in a panic with papers all over his desk and trying to memorize everything begore the exam...

He failed all of the exams throughout the year....the rest of us passed.

applying under-arm spray deodorant after they put on their clothes.

If you put it on before you get dressed you end up with white marks down the side of your top
