Another terrible accident however I'd like to know further details such as how wide was road, what was she wearing etc. I drove back to Cork from Waterford and conditions were indeed very, very bad.

In any event if a car hits a cyclist they should stop. Hope they find the culprit.

As pointed out we already have a thread

Now a comment about the assumption it was a hit and run. At this stage it has not been confirmed whether or not it was a hit and run, although there are clearly some out there making this assumption, and I acknowledge that this may well be the ultimate conclusion. I personally have been involved in 2 very serious road accidents when I can remember nothing personally about what happened, suffering serious concussion as well as substantial injuries to various parts of my body. In both cases my earliest recollection was finding myself in a hospital bed (in one case on a trolley) - once was when commuting and the other time when racing - what I do know however is that in neither case was a motor vehicle involved, as there were plenty of eye-witnesses to confirm this.

Again I am not making any assumptions in this case and no-one should speculate on here about cause - that's for the relevant authorities to determine
