The Canyon appears to have a slightly wider range cassette (11 - 28) compared to the Cannondale (12 - 27), if that's meaningful to your decision. Someone else will know better than me, but I'd personally go with the Roadlite because 1) it's cheaper by €200+ and seems very comparable to the CAAD8 2) that white trim on the Cannondale will be a dirt magnet :pac:. I've read that Canyon's are pretty straightforward to assemble.

Canyon takes about 15 minutes to set up, you just re-attach handlebars, seatpost and wheels and that's it.

Don't canyon bikes come assembled bar the wheels and bars?

    Edit: Too slow!

Tough one, the components on the Canyon are a good bit better but that Cannondale frame is very highly regarded, and it's much more of a looker. I'd go Canyon personally.

thats the CAAD10 not the CAAD 8. cycle superstore have made a mistake theres no such thing as a CAAD 8 10. two different bikes. Id go with the cannondale one of the best alu frames money can buy. Wheels can be upgraded but the frames so good that its the superior bike in my opinion

Yeah its the 2013 CAAD10. I got them down to €1400 on it.

I think the performance gap on the frames has narrowed in recent years.

The groupset, wheels etc. on the Canyon are far better as well.

Going to pull the trigger this weekend.

Going to get sized in my LBS while I get a new tyre for my hybrid.

I had to walk 9km home yesterday when a huge screw went through my tyre and tube. Disaster

Just used the bike sizing tool on Canyon. Its pointing me toward a Large(58) in the Canyon Roadlite. It seems about right based on riding on brothers Scott Speedster 30(XL) which is a tad too big for me.

    My details on http://www.competitivecyclist.com were:

    top tube length 54.3 - 54.7 cm
seat tube range CC 58.8 - 59.3 cm
seat tube range CT 60.6 - 61.1 cm
    stem length 9.4 - 10 cm
    BB saddle position 90.4 - 92.4 cm
    saddle handlebar 50.8 - 51.4 cm
    saddle setback 4.4 - 4.8 cm
    seatpost type setback

Does the Large in the Canyon seem about right?

I used their tool and it fits me perfectly.
The are very good with getting back to you so if your worried email them your concern and they will answer very quickly.
They also call you if your marginal on the crossovers or measurement seem odd.

I'm 5.6" and I got the small and its perfect, i know leg sizes etc make a big difference but it feels perfect. I had a 56cm frame on my old cube and the canyon is noticeably smaller but feels so much better.

I would trust them but emailing them won't hurt and will set your mind at rest

Yeah I'm 5ft 11'' so the Large looks the right fit but I will definitely email them to put my mind at ease

Call them. The pps system put me (just under) 6ft on a M and I talked to two people there who gave me the same advice. One guy is my height with a much longer inside leg and one is basically the same size as me. Both said go for the M and they altered the stem length ( to 110) with the option to swap it if i want to go longer after a few rides.

You'll feel a lot more confident once you talk to somebody in person

5ft 10" here & Medium was unsurprisingly the fit I got. Be a bit surprised and wary of notion of 5 11" equating to Large.

Didn't end up getting the Canyon.

Just purchased an Orbea Orca 105 for €950 in Staggs Absolute steal.

Only 2 months old. Full carbon
