    Hi all,

My mother is modernising her home and with that the collection of brass bits and bobs in on the block. The collection ranges from candlestick holders to serving trays and ashtrays etc. Some are very old (pre-1920's) and others from the 40's-70's.

Where is the best place online or walk-in to sell these can anyone recommend?

    Cheers

    Post some pics? :)

Is that ok in this forum? I suppose it is if I'm not trying to sell them here, just enquiring.

I'll be up there tomorrow so will take some pics and post tomorrow eve.

    Cheers

Brass is everywhere at the moment and it doesnt sell very fast unless it's particularly ornate or rare or if it weighs an absolute ton.

I thought that myself. There's one or two pieces that might be of interest to the right person.

I just collected the stuff tonight so I'll post some pics hopefully tomorrow.

So based on the pics can anyone recommend the best place to try and sell this lot?

You'll only get buttons for them tbh. an antique shop probably wont buy them at all as they always have tons of brass.

I think the pick of the bunch are the candlesticks, the rest, esp. the plates look like cheap holiday souvenirs.
Still, I wouldn't be planning my retirement on the proceeds. Donedeal or adverts as a job lot.

The car is 'different' enough to be interesting, and maybe the bell. The rest don't really stand out. I'd agree you'd do better trying to sell them yourself online than using a dealer (though postage by weight could be a bit of a downer).
