Suppose might as well start this, with some people focusing more on it than this GW.

Currently looking at 7 GW players, with a consideration the bring in an 8th, maybe in the form of a Sunderland Midfeilder, who to bring in though, and in place of who, currently is very unclear.

    Team as it stands...

    Mannonex2
    --Coleman x2--Ward x2--Zabaleta x2--
    -Lallana-Yaya(c) x2-Barkley-x2-Hazard
    Sturridge-Lukaku x2-Suárez

    Boruc
    Henderson
    Olsson
    Evra

Unless Silva gets injured in the 2nd half or Hazard goes nuts

    Hart x2
    -Baines x2--Coleman x2--Ivan-
    -Silva x2--Yaya x2--Mutch--Lallana
    --Suarez--Studge--Lukaku x2(c)--

Currently have 8 DGW players but will probably bench Bardsley not sure whether to do Mutch>Puncheon or just bank it and play Hazard/Sturridge.

    I'm looking at:

    Mannone x 2
    Ward x 2, Coleman x 2, City defender x 2
    Hazard, Lallana, Yaya x 2, Silva x 2
    Sturridge, Suarez, Lukaku x 2

    Adrian, Terry, Chester, Nolan.

    7 DGW players. I think that's enough.

Looking at doing two transfers to get the following (-4)

    Speroni (x2)
Distin, Baines, Zab (all x 2)
Hazard Lallana, Yaya (x2), Barkley or Ki (x2)
Sturridge, Suarez, Aguero (x2 and probably captain)

    Or for no hit....

    Speroni (x2)
Distin, Baines, Zab (all x 2)
    Hazard Lallana, Yaya (x2), Gerrard.
    Lukaku (x2), Suarez, Dzeko (x2)

The first one is riskier but will be a big differential and could pull me back to money places in my league, and around 35 points adrift.

The second is probably safer, although not sure who I'd captain.

    Any views??

There is a daft but audacious Deulofeu/Aguero option drifting in my head somewhere too.

Yaya injury may change things if its serious, as would a Gerrard booking.

I feel like Aguero won't play more than 90 mins over the two matches, although that is plenty of time for him to do damage......

I'd be surprised if he doesn't start against Liverpool and play most of the Sunderland game if, and this is the risk, he doesn't pull up again.

I don't think he'll come back after so many weeks off and just start. I'd expect him to be on the bench vs Liverpool and come on.

He's said himself he won't be rushing things.

City have shown they aren't relying on him as much as earlier in the season either.

I'm very unsure whether I'll go for him or not to be honest. How sturridge does tomorrow and to a lesser extent Rooney's injury situation will make my mind up.

would really like gerrard to get a yellow card, will make decision a little easier for me.

Even if he does start from the bench against Liverpool he and City will want to get him 90 minutes soon so I expect him to play most or all of the Sunderland game if he doesn't start v Liverpool.

While they aren't as reliant on him they have struggled to score as freely. In the 8 games since he went off v Spurs the only had 3 'big' scores, Fulham (5), United (3) and Saints today (4). In the other 5 they scored 4 in total with 2 blanks. I know Silva ans Dzeko have stepped up lately and their most recent form is better than just after he got injured, but if they want to close out the PL he is going to be crucial and they'll want him fit fot the run in.

He has already been taking his comeback slowly so far. He'll have a week and a half full training by the Liverpool game.

Not sure on Agüero yet. Bit of a risk involved with that. I could do Sturridge to Agüero and Skrtel to another Crystal Palace defender to double up on them with my 2 FT. Already have Ward. That would give me 9 but I'd only play 8. Not playing Jedinak over Hazard.

Or stick with my original plan of Zab/Kompany and AJ in.

Awkward moment when you realise that Lukaku is the best captain option in your current team....

In my opinion, you would have to be badly in need of a miracle turnaround to be considering bringing in Aguero this early.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,274 ✭✭✭✭FHFC

I think it's a risk, but not necessarily a crazy one. The thing that complicates it for me is that Lukaku is on some form, and it's probably one or the other of Lukaku and Aguero for me. I have Dzeko who has served me well but Aguero coming back probably means Dzeko not worth keeping for the DGW as if nothing else Aguero will eat into his gametime.

Aguero came back from injury against Spurs in awesome form, could have had a hat trick by ht, but then got injured again due to coming back to soon. However he also came back against Barca and was woeful, although apparently down to picking up a knock early in the game. The risk is his fragility, and hopefully City have learned from the earlier mistakes.

I'd be hoping for a repeat of the spurs comeback v Liverpool and he'll also most likely get an hour or so against Sunderland at the Ethiad.

Thinking of doing Lallana to Ramsey, and Sturridge to Aguero. Would go from this...

    Boruc--Mannone
    Evra--Ward--Olsson--Coleman--Zabaleta
    Barkley--Lallana--Hazard--Yaya--Henderson
    Sturridge--Suárez--Lukaku

    to this...

    Boruc--Mannone
    Evra--Ward--Olsson--Coleman--Zabaleta
    Barkley--Ramsey--Hazard--Yaya--Henderson
    Aguero--Suárez--Lukaku

Giving me 8 DGW players, with 4pt hit.

    Line up would probably be...

    Mannone x2
    ---Ward x2--Coleman x2--Zabaleta x2---
    Barkley x2--Ramsey--Hazard--Yaya(c) x2
    Aguero x2--Suárez--Lukaku x2

    Boruc
    Henderson
    Olsson
    Evra

    Thoughts?

Not sure getting rid of Lallana is a great idea considering he has home game against Cardiff, while Arsenal have a much trickier tie against West Ham.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Yeah, was thinking Lallana could do some damage to Cardiff, but cant afford Aguero otherwise, and not prepared to ship out Yaya or Hazard.

Reckon I'll captain Lukaku, mainly because my rival will do the same. Yaya is a big shout but Lukaku is the safe choice. Getting rid of Evra for Zabaleta leaving me £0.1m short to do Lukaku to Rooney, but with price changes I should be ok to bring him in. Unsure whether to do it for GW35 or GW36. United have a cracking final 4 games though (one a DGW) so I think Rooneys a must. So for GW34 I'm looking at:
    Mannone x2
    Ward x2 -- Coleman x2 -- Zabaleta x2
    -- Azpil
    Barkley x2 -- Silva x2 -- Yaya x2 -- Hazard
    Aguero x2 -- Suárez -- Lukaku (c) x2

    Bench: Sturridge, Skrtel, Colback x2

4 city players there aswell. Agree on rooney he is a must as long as rvp is injured.

    current team
    mannone
    terry baines ward
    yaya silva lallana jedinak
    sturridge suarez lukaku
    bardsley ollson Mata
That gives me 7 dgw or 8 if I play bardsley over terry. Really think I wont bother making a transfer. The dgw template team is probably something like everton defender, 2 city attacking players, lukaku, palace defender and maybe a city defender. I have all those boxes ticked bar the city defender.
Leaving mata on the bench probably makes sense as Im going to want him back for the run in. Getting in another everton or palace defender may pay off this week but they have poor fixtures from gw 35 on. A city defender means I'll have 3 city players so things will get awkward if I want aguero come gw 35.
I went all out for gw 31 with 11 dgw players and dropped in the rankings so think I'll take a different approach this time around.

    .

I'm still pondering pretty much these two options. I'd prefer the first one, it just depends how essential Lukaku is for this DGW given he is showing some form....however his overall pattern is to show form then let you down in a supposed banker fixtures, or in this case two.

My ideal front three for this week would be Lukaku, Aguero and Suarez. But it would take -8 which would probably cancel out any benefits.

The other thing making me waver is I'm catching up in my league, down to 20 points since the above post, it was around 60 when I set my mind to an Aguero differential GW34. I still probably need to take some risks though.

Haha don't know why I have Aguero in there... Playing 4-4-2 and benching Sturridge. A little worried about Yaya being yellow flagged but they'll do everything possible to play him against Liverpool.
    Mannone x2
    Ward x2 -- Coleman x2 -- Zabaleta x2 -- Azpil
    Barkley x2 -- Silva x2 -- Yaya x2 -- Hazard
    Suárez -- Lukaku (c) x2

I can't afford Aguero so thinking of bringing in Dezko for the DGW. Will he get game time once Kun is back though?

I'm on the same boat... changed as soon as I read about rooney's injury: 4pt hit that worked out OK (even gave dzeko the armband... :D) but now don’t really know what to expect from dzeko's gametime on DGW...

Stick with Suarez or go for one of the double game weekers?

So any thoughts of the possibility of Dzeko playing both games? As now considering this...

Henderson to Ramsey, and Sturridge to Dzeko, line up would be

    Mannone x2
    ---Ward x2--Coleman x2--Zabaleta x2---
    Barkley x2--Ramsey/Lallana--Hazard--Yaya(c) x2
    Dzeko x2--Suárez--Lukaku x2

    Boruc
    Ramsey/Lallana
    Olsson
    Evra

Anyone see the Everton match on Sunday? I thought I had Motd2 recorded and finally sat down to watch it to find it only got half of it.

How did Barkley play?? Most reports seem to say he was pretty good. He started the three before that, being replaced by Naismith each time, twice in last ten mins and once v Fulham at HT. My gut would be he'll get good gametime and possibly start both the DGW matches, and he seems to be flying, these quotes from the bbc report....

Everton's front four, which included early substitute Ross Barkley, purred throughout

England international Barkley slotted into the number 10 position, as Lukaku moved to the right......the switch shaped a first half in which Everton laid the foundations for their sixth successive victory.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,747 ✭✭✭Ziegler1988

He played pretty well; had a couple shots but they were from ridiculous angles. He should have had at least a yellow for pushing Arteta to the floor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,268 ✭✭✭IsMiseMyself

    Mannone,
    Ward, Demichelles, Coleman, Azpi,
    Silva, Yaya, Lallana,
    Suarez, Lukaku, Sturridge.

Half considering doing a second transfer and bringing in another DGWer but undecided. Maybe Sterling to Barkley and then playing Barkley instead of Azpi. Between Lukaku and Yaya for captaincy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,822 ✭✭✭LostArt

So it looks like my week & season is coming down to, do I go all out and give Aguero the armband knowing my rivals will most likely give it to Lukaka or match them and go with Lukaku.

    Head is wrecked!

    Plans have changed again...

Possibly Hazard to Ramsey for this GW then to Mata for Utds DGW, and Sturridge to either Aguero or Dzeko. Would give me...

    Bourc x1/Mannone x2

    Ward x2--Coleman x2--Zabaleta x2
    Barkley x2--Lallana x1--Henderson/Ramsey x1--Yaya(c) x2
    Aguero/Dzeko x2--Suárez x1--Lukaku x2

    Definetly on Bench

    Olsson
    Evra

    Thoughts?

Undecided now on keeper. With Bourc against Cardiff, could be in line for more points that Mannone v Everton and City. Unless save points are racked up, and hopefully a pen save. Any word on Bourc's injury?

Captaincy is another thing. Had it nailed on Yaya, untill I considered the Liverpool match, Lukaku v Sunderland and Palace is now looking more attractive.
