I bought the green tin of "nitromors" yesterday to strip some paint from my car valve cover and basically didnt remove half of it , i used a good bit also (4-8) coats i think , did they change it because i remember the old stuff was lethal

Does anyone know a better product to remove paint from metal ?

Heard Aircraft remover is meant to be good :)

    cheers

    dave

Drop it into standard thinners for a few hours. That will strip it!

The best paint stripper ever is Brake/clutch fluid....... though might be a bit slow acting for you!

If it's a flat surface you could sand it off or the other elbow grease method is a wire brush.:)

would dot 3 or 4 do ? this paint wont come off with a wire brush or sanding !!! lol the old nitromors would have it bare metal in 5 mins :(

car engine paint is serious stuff, Nitromors is more suited to home/domestic paints.

but check the motors forum, plenty of lads there do that regularly.

    Strypit is the dogs.
Tried Nitromors, then tried this, night and day ;-)

Don't think it really matters..... but as I said, it takes a really long time. Plus its an expensive option.

That Strypit stuff looks the biz.

McDonnel paints do the old version of nitromors. You'd need to sign a form declaring you know how to use it before they'll sell it to you. Thats the stuff. The new voc compliant nitromors just doesn't work
