    Hi all,
I am looking for commuter shop where people can answer technical questions and will allow to check BIOS settings, will know how to advise etc. There is one I believe Chinese shop on Capel street but I do not want to go there as they are not friendly and I had a feeling that I am interrupting them with my questions and were suggesting to find graphic card (which I was looking for) somewhere else.

    So any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Dagged

Thanks for that. I am not looking to sort problem, I am looking to buy equipment but processor has to have specific features. So I need people to know that or let me test it before I buy.

Do you think this intoit is the place?

I've used them too (to replace a laptop fan). They were very good to deal with.

There used to be a place on Westland Row (up from Pearse Station entrance). Their website is still active so I assume they are still there.

Oops, should have refreshed. I see this place is already mentioned.

I'd give them a call and ask them. They are primarily a retailer, i.e. they sell laptops, graphics cards, hard disk etc..They also do repairs. From what I can tell, they know their stuff.

I would start over on the PC Building forum.

Lots of knowledgeable folks there, which should give you better odds than hoping the staff where you go know what you're after.

Not to be smart, but some one who has specific, instruction set dependent, requirements of a microprocessor tends to either build their own machine or learns to do so.

The margins are so tight on consumer IT that bricks and morter shops exist solely to unit shift poor value, high margin boxes to a subsection of the market that, for whatever reason, have issues with buying online.

Guys basically I need to power on machine in store and check BIOS options. I can not do this in so called pc shops like pcworld.

Beside it is no secret what I want to do . I need machine which can handle virtualization for x64 guest system. Many computers/laptops that include CPUs with VT support might ship with VT disabled by default, and VT must be enabled manually. Problem is that in some cases VT support option is for some unknow reason not present in BIOS (even if hardware can handle it) and can not be switch on.

That is why I need to check it before buy.
