Stopping cat poop getting stuck to his skin?

Toby has a tendency to have a bit of poop get stuck coming out of his bottom(sorry to be so graphic), it builds up into a lump and it really annoys him when we have to get it off him. Usually my husband holds him on a worktop and I put on a rubber glove and use some KY jelly to ease it off.

Has anyone any ideas on how we can stop it from happening. It's only the skin, not the fur, it looks like it's a problem coming out:confused:

Check with your vet obviously but adding a limited (word being limited) amount of psyllium husk powder may help (it's soluable fibre basically making sure things come out and that it remains relatively coherent due to the fibre but it's also soaks up a lot of water so you'd probably be taking half a tea spoon a day).
