Great news everyone, national news in fact, it would appear that a little miracle has happened down the farm in Kildare.

A local sheep and goat got it on and the result is a thriving little geep.

Its no liger but still enough to get us hybrid fans excited.

    Slow news day I assume.

    I love the video.

"Its a funny story. On the hill there, the ewes were tippin. And there was a goat out tippin them as far as I could see. We will keep him as long as we can but if he becomes a nuisance sure he will have to be got rid of". :)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheep%E2%80%93goat_chimera
A sheep–goat chimera (sometimes called a geep in popular media[1]) is a chimera produced by combining the embryos of a goat and a sheep; the resulting animal has cells of both sheep and goat origin. A sheep-goat chimera should not be confused with a sheep-goat hybrid, which can result when a goat mates with a sheep.
So the "lads" who informed him didn't even check Wikipedia.

A ray of hope flitters in the sky
A shiny star lights up way up high
All across the land dawns a brand new
    morn
This comes to pass when a geep is born
A silent wish sails the seven seas
The winds have changed whisper in the
    trees
And the walls of doubt crumble tossed and
    torn
This comes to pass when a geep is born
A rosy hue settles all around
You've got the feel you're on solid ground
For a spell or two no-one seems forlorn
This comes to pass when a geep is born

    And all of this happened
    Because the world is waiting
    Waiting for one geep
Black, white, yellow, no one knows
But a geep that would grow up and turn
    tears to
    laughter
Hate to love, war to peace
    And everyone to everyone's neighbour
Misery and suffering would be forgotten
    forever
It's all a dream and illusion now
It must come true, sometimes soon
    somehow
All across the land dawns a brand new
    morn
This comes to pass when a geep is born
All across the land dawns a brand new
    morn
This comes to pass when a geep is born
    When a geep is born.

Is THAT what cow-tipping means? I think I knew my mates... I need to have a chat with them.

    And what about it's cheese?

Considering it's a male, I think I'll pass. But you go right ahead there if he's your type :-)

It is. I've had it many, many times. I'd imagine it depends on the kind/brand/type (?) of goat you taste.

I'd love to eat the one in the video for example. I can almost taste his youthful hope and illusions. That would taste amazing in a curry.

You don't have togo to India.

I was practically reared on it in Kerry in the eighties. Leaner than lamb (the force fed fatty shyte that passes for lamb these days anyway) More of a gamey taste.

Roast leg of mature wild/feral goat 1yr plus would be on my death row meal list.

Horrible smell from boiling it though. Not recommended.

Collies are awesome! I don't think I have the patience to ever be a dog owner, but if I ever do I want either a collie or a Shetland sheepdog. They're GORGEOUS!! :D

And the geep is totes adorbs too! :)<3
