for 350-400 euro you won't be building a gaming PC.

at least not with parts that aren't 2-3 years old.

I don't care how old the parts are.

    Of course you can!

    Item|Price
AMD FX-6300 Prozessor, Boxed, Sockel AM3+|€95.67
Cooltek X1, Midi Tower, ATX, schwarz, ohne Netzteil|€20.99
    ASRock 880GM-LE FX, Sockel AM3+, mATX|€50.63
    4GB G.Skill PC3-10667U CL9-9-9-24|€31.64
    Super Flower Amazon 80Plus Bronze Netzteil - 450 Watt|€46.32
    WD Blue 1TB 6Gb's|€49.80
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€314.04

Now whats missing from the above is a graphics card.

R9 270 - Although this is going to bring your budget up to 464. If you could manage the extra 50 this definitly would be the way to go.

GTX 750 Would get you roughly within in budget.

This looks very promising. Thank you so much for taking the time to build me a PC. I like the look of the specs for that graphics card. Do you know if my geforce gtx 8800 graphics card would work with this build while I save up for that mouth-watering R9 270?

These are much better options than second hand. Case is out of stock try the thermaltake v3 black edition. 33 euro ish.

Yes your card will work with this till you're sorted.

For gaming would you not be better getting a cheaper CPU and separate gfx card. Than spending the extra on the APU which is expensive if you using a gfx card anyway?

What do you mean when you say apu? The north bridge on the motherboard? If you get a cheap cpu you will probably end up with a bottleneck.

All gaming machines have a separate graphics card so I don't know what you're on about in that regard.

Right, I have ordered these parts and they are on their way :)

I now have enough money to get the graphics card so my question is what is the difference between this MSI R9 270 GAMING 2G, AMD Radeon R9 270, 2GB DDR5 and this PowerColor Radeon R9 270 OC, 2GB GDDR5, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort?

The main difference I can spot is PCIe vs PCIe x16. What does PCIe x16 even mean? Is it ok to get the PCIe x16 for my build?

    Thanks again!

Get the MSI , or gigabyte best cooling between available ones.... 148 using geizhals.de,

The power cooler and other ones not as good quality wise.

But any of the brands you listed will work in your machine.

Another good one here also for 150 delivered to you.

I'd strongly recommend the Amazon gigabyte terror linked. Amazon is a great place to shop.

I ordered a 430W PSU and these cards need 500W.

I need a new power supply now? :/

No. Those cards would work on a 300w psu fine. They only make such requirements to cover the fact that there are so many junk power supplies out there in the market.

you got the boxed fx 6300 so it should come with a fan and heatsink already attached?
    No thermal paste required.

Oh my god you're right! There's perfectly applied thermal paste already on the heat sink! It's beautiful :'D

Dude thank you so much you just saved me a trip to Santry and €9. <3

So I built the computer. What do I do next? Install windows by booting from a device with the files? Or do I install something else first? What is on this CD that came with the motherboard? Does that have to be installed first?

Sorry for all the questions I'm such a newbie.

I definitely built it correctly because I can get to the bios settings.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,648 ✭✭✭✭beauf

Windows first. Then the cd with the motherboard. Its drivers and apps.

I just completed my first custom gaming PC build and it feels great. I could not have done it without the help of everyone in this thread. I am so grateful. I still can't believe I have such a powerful rig for just €453

You guys are the best! I love you all!

I'm looking to build a pc to run flight simulator x on the same budget, I've looked around and tried quite a lot of set ups. I made this one up on hardwareversand.de last night (it adds up to around €320) but I need to get an alright GPU for around €90. Would this set up be any good?

    AMD FX-6300
    Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX motherboard
    4gb Corsair Vengeance Blue RAM
    500gb HDD
Corsair VS Series VS450 8+ power supply unit
    Cooltek X2 Case

What would be the best GPU that I could get for around €90? I'm not looking to run Flight Sim on the highest settings, I wouldn't mind if it ran well at medium settings.

    Thanks!

You can nab a 260X for €100. Failing that a 250x. If your going for a 260x I'd recommend saving up a little more and grabbing a 2gb version. This is currently out of stock, but €8 more for an extra gig of vram is worth it.

Edit: This one is actually in stock. I realise it's significantly over budget at €115 but it is factory overclocked and has 2gb vram.

I just saw an AMD Radeon R7 250X 2GB DDR5 for €109 which looks decent enough. May I ask do you know what the postage costs are?

    Its not, grab a 260x. The 250x is basically a 7770

Sorry to bother you all again but I've made some changes and made up another system on mindfactory.de . So this is it:

    FX 6300 Hexa-Core 3.5ghz €86.14
    Asrock 980DE3 motherboard €43.61
4GB Corsair Vengeance Blue Dual channel kit €39.62
    Sapphire Radeon R7 260X 2gb Graphics Card €105
    500GB Seagate Hard Drive €39.77
Inter-Tech Eterno V6 Paladin Midi Tower with 500w psu €40.84

Total including DHL shipping @€;60 (because it will be sent in 2 packages) is €414

    Any opinions on this?

The power supplies with cases are usually horrific, especially a 40 euro case like that one. I wouldn't touch them!

You're going to pay €105 for your graphics card. I got an R9 270 for €140 from adverts.ie. It's like new and still in warranty until December. I can put you in touch with the guy if you're interested in going the extra €35. I'm pretty sure he has more to sell and he seems very trustworthy.

Here's a comparison of our cards

So I'd be better off just buying a power supply and case separately? And would you know what power supply would be good value for money (this is the first time I've attempted to make up a pc) so when it comes to things like the psu I haven't a clue haha

I'm extremely tight for money, I could only spend around €10-€15 more on the GPU

    Swap with this?

    http://www.hardwareversand.de/2048+MB/150728/Sapphire+Radeon+R7+260X%2C+2GB+GDDR5%2C+DVI%2C+HDMI%2C+DisplayPort%2C+lite+retail.article

If there is anyway you could manage an extra 40, the R9 270 is really the best way to go.
