I've yet to encounter one with any redeemable qualities.

Ignorant, up their own hole, and rude.

Who took the jam out of their donuts ?

    Nope, nearly all routes.

I don't get why they have to be such dickheads.

    Manners cost nothing

Just posted in a different thread saying the opposite. Most that I meet are polite and friendly, and will often slow the bus down if I'm running for it, or let me away with a portion of the price/or go for free if I'm short.

Me thinks someone is upset as they ran for a bus that was pulling or had pulled out and he didn't open the doors this morning.

I have no problem with Bus Drivers at all. The lads on my route are all sound.

Generally sound lads I find. Couple of nob head sure, but you find that anywhere.

A sizeable portion of them are dicks, but there are a few that are nice. Take for example the friendly dude on the 46a sometimes, greets you with a cheery HI GUYS! to everybody. Always cheers me up.

Yup, my leap card has been short without me knowing a few times, they let !me on anyway.

I presume we are talking customer service skills because I've yet to see one who didn't do the core part of their job very well.

If so, the majority are good, some aren't the most user friendly and some are good but are having a bad day.

No different to a lot of other customer facing professions.

So you've tried every single dublin bus route consistently enough to know?

They have still a ways to go to compete with Dublin taxi drivers in fairness.

Generally fairly ok, I wouldn't blame them for being surly though, imagine having to deal with some of the tossers that get onto the buses everyday.

Almost every DB driver I've encountered has been lovely tbh. One was a dick, and I reported him, but all the rest are lovely.
usually, when I get off the bus to go to work, it's near the last stop on that route, but is a 15 minute walk to my job. If the bus is empty, the drivers drop me right outside my job just to be nice. :)
