Hi I was just wondering if anyone uses Clinique Anti Blemish foundation? I have dry skin and have scars and some spots so I need something with good coverage but I read that its really more for people with oily skin. The last foundation I used was Vichy Dermablend and it gives brilliant coverage but dried my skin out so bad my chin was flaking so I've had to stop using it. I'm trying to find something that isn't drying but still has good coverage and wont be too bad for my spot prone skin. Any advice is appreciated. Cheers!

I used to love that foundation. Was the only one I used for about a year. But then my skin started to get very dry this winter and I had to stop using it. Made my skin so flakey. Shame because I love the texture and coverage of it.

Perhaps bring a container into a Clinique counter and see if you can get a sample to use for a few days?

Thanks for that, maybe i will see if i can get a sample. Not sure if they give out samples but worth a shot. Hate spending money on something that isnt worth it!

Clinique do give out samples, definitely, sometimes you need to bring in your own pot as they don't have any.

I did use this foundation before and its great but it made my skin very, very dry and flaky. I generally have oil skin and no other foundation or product dried my skin out like this did so definitely get a sample before splashing out.

Maybe the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation might be worth a try?

I know it's very pricey (over €40) but I think that's down to the fact that it's so pigmented that you get a lot of wear from one tube. Beauty bloggers rave about it, and it's one foundation I can think of that's full-coverage without being really mattifying, say like Estée Lauder Double Wear. Tanya Burr did a video about it:

Clinique as a brand has nothing but bad reviews. It's extremely harsh on skin.

I'll check out the Laura Mercier one, thanks for the suggestion. My skin is dry so I don't think the Clinique one will be for me by the sounds of it! The Vichy dermablend really dried out my skin but its getting better now since I stopped using it. I have tried one or two other Clinique foundations, I think they were Even Better and one called Super Moisture or something and liked both so I don't think its a bad brand.

I use the Anti-Blemish on nights out (its good coverage and doesn't have spf).

But its definitely a more demi matte, kind of powdery finish. If your skin is dry I wouldn't advise it, but you can always call into them and ask for a sample.

Thanks for that but by the sounds of it it wouldnt suit my skin so I guess I'll keep looking. Would like to use something that doesnt have harsh ingredients in it. I've tried a few mineral foundations but I think they are useless at proper coverage and again a bit drying for my skin. All I want is something with good coverage that looks dewy and fresh and isnt too bad for me skin. Not looking for much!! :D
