Went into pharmacy with 88 photos on my memory stick and the machine could only pick up 30 or so. The person in there said some are the wrong format. Is this the problem? How would i change it? cheers

    What formats are they in?

If you were using a dslr, sometimes you might be taking pics in a proprietary format rather than jpeg or whatever.
You should be able to find a free converter online, for example nikon.com is where I got the one I use for my pics.

Similar happened with me, but in a photography shop. Just moved them from the memory-key to a disc and they are showed up then for me for some odd reason.

    Hope that helps you too,

Tried that now only 4 showing, some are downloaded from the internet and some are off my phone. They are all jpeg, anyone know why they arent showing up for printing?

Very odd. Could check their file attributes. Right click, properties, make sure they're not ticked hidden or read-only.
They really shouldn't be, and this would only be a problem if the printing machine is set up to not display read-only or hidden files when afaik, they should just be showing everything.
That's the only other thing I can think of.

Ended up having to print the rest of them in another pharmacy as theirs would only pick up 4 photos. Went to another one and they all showed up. Couldnt believe they had 4 machines and neither one would pick them all up.

Well, at least you know it was their problem, not the card!
