    Jesus Christ..
    CF is a rotten disease..

I've just seen that this beautiful girl is dying, hasn't long to live.
I googled her and found this video from last year -

    https://www.facebook.com/TempleStreetCUH/posts/183827318423196

I plugged in m earphones and I'm sitting her crying at work.

That poor little girl, so innocent..I'm so happy that Ed Sheeran called her, she obviously adores him.

I wish they would find a cure for all illnesses but bloody hell CF is a bitch.

Just heard, she passed away not long after Ed Sheeran called her.
    Here I am, sobbing again.
    RIP

Hope she can breath easy now.

I spent a lot of time in the respiratory ward of Tempe St as a child (not a CF sufferer, thankfully) and saw so many kids with it. I now have a mate in his late 20s with it, he's doing well but prob won't see 40.

Ireland has the highest proportion of CF sufferers in the world. You're right-it's a rotten, cruel condition that one day we will eradicate.

Life expectancy with Cystic Fibrosis has improved. Interesting reading yesterday in the Indo about a young woman with CF and how new medication (can't remember the name now, think it's a chloride channel/receptor potentiator IIRC) is really helping her stave off a lot of the issues for now. Very expensive medication though apparently.

    Edit: cftr potentiator not blocker.

A good friend has cf. He was told he wouldn't live to 15. Thankfully, because he did so much drumming with his old band, that physical exercise helped and he's still alive, aged nearly 24. But, he's now on 24 hour oxygen and it's unlikely he'll live through the year. It's a horrific disease and I don't know how sufferers live with it :(
